The P&O Oriana, like the other six ships of their fleet, adheres to the traditional style for which P&O Cruises is known. She is the sixth largest of the ships in the fleet as well as the fastest and the one that has served the longest. The ship accommodates over one thousand nine hundred passengers.
The Oriana’s itineraries vary from mini cruises to complete world cruises. Among its many destinations are the Mediterranean, the fjords of Norway, the Baltic, Canada and the Atlantic Islands.
The Oriana cruise ship is an elegant looking ship and was designed to meet the tastes of the typical British passenger. In 2011 she was completely redesigned and re-launched as a ship specifically for adults. This ship appeals to a mature clientele, with the passenger list made up primarily of couples and small groups of friends. The food served in its restaurants and the entertainment are geared towards British tastes and an adult market. The atmosphere is refined and comfortable. Click to see the Oriana Itineraries
Two of the Oriana’s best features include the wide teak promenade and the atrium, which has a Tiffany glass ceiling. The ship never feels crowded because the passengers are spread among ten different bars, six lounges, and several restaurants.
The restaurants include the Peninsula and the Orient in which you will be seated with the same passengers throughout the cruise. More casual dining can be enjoyed in either the Conservatory or the Al Fresco. For a more formal experience enjoy the Ocean Grill or the Sorrento.
Entertainment in the evenings begins around 6:00 pm. Options include the Tiffany Lounge piano bar and live music in the Crow’s Nest and Lord’s Tavern. The Crow’s Nest is located at the front of the Sun Deck, a perfect spot to enjoy the scenery as well as the sunsets. The Theatre Royal has shows nightly and the Pacific Lounge presents a variety of singing acts.
The P&O Oriana also has a library, a card room, a nice shopping area and three swimming pools. The Oasis Spa offers health and beauty treatments including massages and facials. There is a gym with exercise equipment and a number of classes.
There are 941 cabins on board the Oriana, 611 of which are outside. There are 130 cabins with balconies and a number of suites and mini-suites. The suites are located on B Deck and some of the amenities that come with these cabins are butler service, champagne, and a whirlpool bath.
The cabins are contemporary in design with a soothing blue color theme. They have an airy ambiance and have the feel of a comfortable country-style house hotel.
