There is a huge variety of ships available to board these days but you may not be familiar with one that stands out for its excellent service, destinations and intimate feel.
Welcome to the Serenade 1
This luxurious floating 4-star hotel currently chartered by Seafarer cruises will take you to some fantastic cities on either of their scheduled itineraries.
A river cruise aboard the Serenade 1 is bound to create a memorable and long lasting impression to all who get the opportunity to sail on her. There are many different places on the ship to relax whether it is on the Sun Deck, in one of the numerous lounges or simply in your own cabin, there’s always a place to unwind.
The Serenade 1 has a length of 110 metres and a width of 11.4 metres. With capacity to hold 130 passengers and only 65 cabins, this ship provides a real cosy feeling that makes it perfect for those who want to get away from it all.
STATEROOMS & PUBLIC ROOMS
The cabins are all uniform in design and size. With a space of 16 square meters, these cabins are fully equipped with all of the modern amenities that people have come to expect on modern river cruise ships. These include a flat-screen satellite television, a safe in the cabin and a hairdryer, as well as individually controlled air conditioning.
It is worth knowing that the cabins on the Beethoven deck do not have balconies. However, they are present on the Mozart and the Chopin decks.
Other attractions on the ship include a gymnasium with exercise bikes and other equipment, a sauna, a large lounge and bar area, a lending library with tables for playing cards, a restaurant and an exterior sun deck.
The restaurant has a large buffet for breakfast meals, but has waiter service provided for lunch and dinner sittings. With a wide variety of different cuisines to choose from, you will never walk away feeling empty. Of course, for those who get peckish late at night, snacks are provided at certain times in the evening. Afternoon tea is also provided.
The lounge features live entertainment every night, usually from a different musician who will soothe and take your stress away. These musicians are regional and perform local music that will give the feel of the area. Books and board games are available in the library and there are movies available on demand in your cabin.
Though it’s up to the holidaymaker to decide what to wear, a good idea is to take some nice casual clothing. It is advisable to pack smart casual outfits for the evening and a fancier outfit if you choose to attend the Captain’s Gala Dinner. A cocktail dress for the women and a suit and tie for the men are the best options to take.
See the highlights of Holland and Belgium departing from Amsterdam and visiting major cities including Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Rotterdam amongst others.
You can also opt for a cruise along the Rhine with an eight-day voyage. Commencing from Amsterdam, delightful destinations will be featured each day in Germany, France and Switzerland with the cruise ending in Basel.
There are planned excursions that will maximise your time ashore or you can make your own discoveries. The staff onboard will always steer you in the right direction.
A river cruise is sure to impress any traveller and the Serenade 1 itineraries come complete with flights and transfers from the UK.
