Fred. Olsen Cruises, having been in business many years, is extremely proud that they don’t have 3,000 passengers on board and don’t need rock walls and skating rinks to keep you happy. Fred. Olsen’s itineraries are excellent and now this excellence will be offered in the Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami. The Fred. Olsen Cruise Line also sails year round from Rome and five ports in the U.K.
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines marketing director Nigel Lingard says there are no plans to change the product to cater to the faster paced modern age. "We find people age into our product, rather than us having to adapt to a new demographic," he says.
"What appeals to our customers is familiarity; our officers and crew are all long-serving, and many long-term friendships -- both between passengers and between passengers and crew -- are forged on our ships."
However, in a move with the times, smoking is now banned in all indoor areas onboard all five ships and permitted only on cabin balconies and on specially designated areas of deck space.
The ships are built on a human scale, large enough to be spacious and comfortable, intimate enough to remain friendly and relaxed! As a result of that, our guests have come to expect a genuinely personal service, which is consistently delivered by our long serving officers and crew with a smile.
Sailing on our ships is like sailing with friends. Genuine and lasting friendships are forged on our ships; it's just one of many reasons why so many people find our voyages so engaging and keep on coming back time and again. We take you to the heart of the world's most unforgettable destinations, many of which are inaccessible to larger ships.
With so many businesses being gobbled up by faceless corporations, Fred. Olsen Cruises are proud to represent the human face of cruising. We hope you'll want to share the good times with us.
Fred. Olsen operates 4 ships, Black Watch, Braemar, Boudicca and the Balmoral. The Balmoral (formerly Crown Odyssey) has been lengthened and rebuilt prior to being placed in service in January 2008.
We have defined and refined the cruise experience, and judging by the number of passengers that come back time and again, we seem to have styled it to perfection. As a family-operated company, they are justly proud of their lineage and heritage as much as their sucess.
With the fleet of five glistening-white ships, we believe that small is beautiful. Passengers become friends, they are never just cabin numbers. Unlike other larger companies, Fred Olsen Cruises are proud of the intimate world where modern-day conveniences sail in harmony with traditional values.
